Reverend Robert James Grant has served on the Lowndes County Board of Education since 1991. He is a native of Lowndes County and graduated from Central High School. Mr. Grant attended Trenholm State Technical College where he received the Associates Degree in Accounting in 1979.  He is currently enrolled in Sure Foundation Theological Institute's Associate Program.  

As a membership of the Lowndes County Board of Education, he received recognition for Level 3 of the Alabama Association of School Boards' Boardmanship Program.  

Reverend Grant and his wife Melody have four children. Reverend Grant is a Baptist minister and enjoys membership in Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, Mount Horeb # 82.
