Steve Foster, a lifetime resident of Fort Deposit, Alabama, was initially elected to the Lowndes County Board of Education in 1992.  He is an active member of the community and has been employed in the banking industry for a number of years.  Mr. Foster has served President and as Vice-President for numerous terms.   

He earned the Associates of Arts Degree in Business from Alabama Christian College in 1978, the B.S. Degree in Government and Business and the Masters in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery in 1980 and 1985, respectively. He has completed substantial coursework toward the Doctorate of Public Administration from The University of Alabama.  

He holds membership with the Fort Deposit Chamber of Commerce where he served as President for five years, Lowndes County Cattlemen's Association, Lowndes County Farmers Federation, Alabama Association of School Boards, Alabama Association of Governmental Organizations.  He has served as District 2 Director of the Alabama Association of School Boards and was elected to be its Vice-President in December, 2007.  In addition he is an elected member of the Lowndes County Democratic Executive Committee.     

Mr. Foster is a member of the Fort Deposit Church of Christ.  He and his wife, Nancy have two children.
