Reverend Ben Davis is a native of Lowndes County and graduated from the district's historic "The Calhoun School" in 1962. He attended the Trenholm Technical College and earned a certificate in Business and Office Education in 1972 and has completed 2 1/2 years of course work at Alabama Christian College.  

He was elected to The Lowndes County Board of Education in 1990 and currently serves the school board as Vice President. 
Mr. Davis was employed with K-Mart for 30 years and retired as an Operations Manager. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitehall, Alabama and serves as Pastor of the Rockwest Baptist Church in Butler County, Alabama.  

He is a member of the Adoptive Parent Association. He also served in the United States Army having earned a Purple Heart in the Viet Nam War.
